Illawong High Velocity Meet #3 – The Ridge Athletics Track; 5 Mar 2022
Andres represented UTS Norths in the 100m hurdles 84cm.
Unlike our last 2 visits to Illawong, and despite the attrocious weather all week – Illawong turned on almost perfect conditions for their 3rd high velocity meet of the season. They were also kind enough to relocate the finish line camera down the back straight so the athletes would have tail winds.
Men U15/16 100m hurdles 84cm
Only the 2nd time Andres has ever run 100m hurdles (the first being at NSW Junior Championships the previous weekend), he set a huge PB, taking 0.81 seconds off his previous time. Running against the U16s helped, as did the tail wind. As far as we can tell, this was the fastest time run by an U15 athlete so far this year anywhere in Australia – although we don’t expect that to remain the case for long.
