Andres represented UTS Norths in the 100m hurdles, 200m hurdles, 100m sprint and 200m sprint in the U16 age group.
Due to an ongoing groin strain and issues with back pain – he only competed in the 100m sprint. He has already qualified to compete in all four events at Nationals in Brisbane in April, so he only needed to compete in something at Juniors to be selected in the NSW team.

Andres came 3rd in his heat to qualify 7th fastest for the final with a time only slightly slower than his PB.
A strong head wind in the final meant times were generally a bit slow – but he ran well and finished a close 7th, only 5 hundredths off 5th place – a decent result given his injury concerns and problematic preparation.
