2022 Illawarra Track Classic – Kerryn McCann Athletic Centre, Wollongong; 15 Jan 2022
Andres represented UTS Norths in the 100m Open and the U16 60m Championships.
Unfortunately, after the 60m Championship heats were run and while they were in the middle of running the 100m Open races, a thunderstorm developed and competition was stopped for some time while we waited for the storm to pass. Shortly before competition was due to restart, an unexpected supercell storm hit Wollongong, trashing the equipment and and making it impossible to restart the competition.
The remainder of the 100m Open races were cancelled, while the 60m Championship finals were postponed to a later date.
U16 Men 60m Championships
With no U15 category, Andres was running up an age group. Andres came 4th in his heat and was the 7th fastest qualifier – and the only U15 to make it to the final. His time was a PB.
Heat | 7.58 (+2.8); PB | 7th fastest qualfier |
Final | postponed to a later date |
Open Men 100m Sprint
Only 6 of the sections got to run before the event was delayed due to thunderstorm and subsequently cancelled due to storm damage. Andres did not run.
