North Shore Zone Primary School Sports Association (PSSA) Athletics Championships – Narabeen; 26 Aug 2016
At his first school athletics carnival in June 2016, Andres won the 8yo 100m sprint and qualified for the North Shore Zone PSSA Championships. He also competed in the 200m – but it is an 8-10yo event and so didn’t qualify based on his time against the older kids.
At the Zone championships in August, Andres ran a 16.00 in the heat (new PB) to qualify equal 2nd fastest, but in the final faded to come 6th. We don’t know his time in the final.
I believe this is the first time Andres had been in a sprint race where he wasn’t in the top 3 – up until this point he had rarely lost a race at Little Athletics or School carnivals.
