2016 Little Athletics Zone Championships

Little Athletics NSW 2016-17 Northern Metropolitan Zone Championships (Region 5) – Barton Park, Parramatta; 10-11 Dec 2016

Andres competed in the 70m, 100m and 200m sprints, plus the 60m hurdles. No medals are awarded to U8 and above at Zone – just ribbons.

Results: 2nd in 60m hurdles, 100m and 200m sprints; 1st in 70m sprint – qualifies for Regionals in all four events.

U8 Boys 60m hurdles 45cm

Andres took 0.6 seconds off his PB in the heat and then nearly 0.1 seconds again in the final. He came second in the final.

Andres qualified fastest for the 100m taking 0.46 seconds off his PB. He then took a further 0.03 seconds off that time in the final but was beaten by 0.02 seconds and relegated to 2nd place!

Andres qualified fastest for the 70m taking 0.11 seconds off his PB – he then won the final, but that was the only race of the weekend which he did not set a PB!

Andres qualified fastest for the 200m final, taking 0.54 seconds off his PB in the heat. He took a further 0.14 seconds off his PB in the final – but only finished 2nd.
